Gooseberry jam for diabetics

Preparation description:

Gooseberries for jams are best taken a little unripe, then they will not spread during cooking. If you want a greener color, add some cherry leaves while boiling and remove them before jarring the jam. Jam keeps well at room temperature in a dark place.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making gooseberry jam for diabetics.

Sort the gooseberries, rinse and remove the tails. Prick each berry with a toothpick in 2-3 places and place in a bowl for cooking. Pour gooseberries with sugar and leave for 5-6 hours for the berries to release juice.

Put the berries with sugar on a slow fire and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, cool and leave for 6 hours.

Put the jam on a slow fire, bring to a boil and cook for another 10 minutes. Pour the finished jam into sterilized, hot jars, close and turn upside down. Let the jam cool completely, turn over and store.
